September Update
Dear Friends,
First, we'd like to thank you for your continued prayers of healing for Supt. Wootton. We serve a God of miracles, and we are trusting for nothing less. As you know he completed his final round of chemo a month ago, but at this time he is still awaiting all the results of the scans. Once we know more, another update will be shared.
However, we encourage you to listen to this podcast episode, which was recorded this past Friday, as he personally shares an update with all of you.
Sincerely,
Dan Lund
Assistant Superintendent
August Call to Prayer & Fasting
We invite you to join with others across the state for a day of prayer & fasting for Superintendent John Wootton on Wednesday, August 14th. This day of prayer & fasting will coincide with his last scheduled day of chemotherapy treatment. Following this fourth round of treatment, he will undergo several scans and tests to evaluate his progress. We will provide an update later this month when we have more information.
Thank you for also remembering members of our OMN ministry family who are also battling cancer and believing for healing and strength.
As a reminder, please send emails of encouragement to supt@ohioministry.net Cards can be sent to the Network Resource Center, 8405 Pulsar Pl, Columbus, OH 43240.
Thanks for taking the time to pray and fast as we believe for complete healing in Jesus’ name!
Original Announcement & Prayer Video
Our Assistant Superintendent, Dan Lund, leads us in prayer for Pastor John in the video below.
During the 2024 Network Conference in May, our Superintendent, John Wootton, shared a recent health update.
Pastor John and Brigette have been processing the very recent news that he has been diagnosed with cancer that started in the lungs and has spread to several organs.
While this is a very serious blow to the Wootton family and to all who love them, we know that our extended family of faith-filled believers will bombard heaven for a miraculous healing and provision on their behalf.
Currently, the medical plan is for him to begin three months of targeted chemotherapy and immunotherapy every few weeks, starting in early June, and then evaluate with scans at the end of the summer to monitor his progress and take additional steps at that time to consider the best future phases of treatment.
UPDATES & COMMUNICATION
Your participation in prayer and support is both needed and appreciated! In coordination with the Executive Presbytery, we are making sure that routine updates on John’s health will be provided over the summer so our OMN family is kept apprised.
As we believe together for his healing, there are three key things we can all do to help: Pray, Protect and Provide Support.
PRAY: On May 15 our Executive Presbyters and Leaders joined with our Drivers for a day of fasting and prayer, and we prayed over them Monday at Network Conference. Now, we're asking you to join us again on WEDNESDAY, MAY 29 for another day of prayer and fasting as we believe for this mountain to be moved in Jesus' name.
PROTECT: We have encouraged Supt. Wootton to guard his health and energy during this season. So, if you know you're not feeling well, we kindly ask that you do not hug him or shake hands if you see him. The last thing we want is for him to get a cold or virus.
As you might appreciate, we also want to protect him from getting overwhelmed with personal texts and phone calls. If it is a ministry-related issue, nothing has changed. Please be reminded of his assistant, Jan Mason, who remains ready to process emails and schedule his appointments, calls, etc. She may be reached or cc’d at jan@ohioministry.net. For personal notes of encouragement to Pastor John & Brigette, we ask you to use supt@ohioministry.net.
PROVIDE SUPPORT: Although he is still working and serving our Network, we're helping him cut back on the extras and some of the additional travel, so we appreciate your understanding.
If you'd like, you can also support the Wootton family tangibly by sending notes, cards, or gifts to the Network Resource Center, and we will ensure they reach them.
Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support.
