Hey, Ohio PKs!

Just want to take a moment to say how much Lisa and I are looking forward to seeing all those in grades 6-12 at the 2019 Ohio PK Retreat at Kalahari! This event is a highlight of the year as PKs from all over Ohio come together, connecting and building friendships that will continue well past the weekend. PK Retreat is filled with great ministry times and lots of fun. We will have powerful worship, impactful preaching, and meaningful free time for connecting with each other.

Each day we will be having fun playing crazy games, eating meals together, and going to the awesome water park, just to name a few. I will also be having a special dinner with the high school seniors, which I totally love! For rooming, you can stay in your parents’ room at night or you can hang out with other PKs and youth leaders in PK hotel rooms if that’s what you want.

Kalahari is an amazing facility – if you’ve never been before, then get ready for lots of fun from the arcade, water park, and great atmosphere. As a pastors’ kid myself, I can tell you how much I appreciated events like this growing up. We hope you can join us at Kalahari with a group of amazing young people who know what it is like to live the life of a PK. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself ( or my assistant Amanda Majors ( Don’t miss this retreat, and we look forward to seeing you there! (See registration link above.)

Network Youth Director

Teens have the option of staying in your room for a reduced registration rate or to stay in a room with other kids of the same age and gender. These rooms will be supervised by adult leaders many of which are youth pastors or PKs themselves.

It depends on whether or teens are staying with their parents. If your teen is staying in your room, then services and activities including the water park, PK Retreat T-shirt, dinner on Monday night and lunch and dinner on Tuesday are all covered.

If he/she is staying with the youth, everything above plus their room and breakfast on Tuesday and Wednesday morning are covered in the registration fee.

After teens check in at registration with their parents on Monday, they will also need to check in between 3:00 and 4:30 pm on Monday at the Registration Booth D in the hallway leading to Cypress to meet their leader. PKs staying in teen housing (not with their parents) will need to bring their luggage at that time.

Parents can check with our leaders at Registration Booth D in order to get in contact with their teen. Room leaders will also provide their cell phones to teens and parents during the check in process.

If your child has allergies or food sensitivities, please email us at so that special arrangements can be made with Kalahari.

Staff will not administer medication. Parent are responsible to ensure that students get the necessary medication. Teens may administer their own medication at the parent’s discretion.

Ill students will not be permitted to attend. This includes teens with a fever over 100⁰. Students must be fever-free for 24 hours prior to attending.

Although there is no specific dress code, we ask that parents use good judgement in deciding what a teen should wear at an event of this nature.

2019 PK Jr. (Ages Birth – 5th Grade)

Meals are not provided for children so please be sure that your child eats prior to being checked in. Children will receive a light snack during the sessions. If infants require feeding while in care, please be sure to leave instructions for the staff at check in.

Yes. Children must be checked in before each session at the designated check-in area. Each child will be issued a label along with a matching parental identification tag to be used for pick up.

Staff will be ready to receive children 30 minutes before each main session.

At check in, parents will be asked to provide their cell phone number and someone will text you if you are needed during the service.

Children ages 2+ rotate to different activities throughout the sessions. If you need to find your child during the services, please go to their classroom and there will be a sign on the door telling you where your child can be found.

Snacks include pretzels, gold fish crackers, popcorn, and chocolate chip cookies. If your child is unable to have these snacks, please plan to send a snack with them.

Staff will not administer medication to children. Parents will be responsible to give children any medication needed.

For the safety of all children, ill children will not be permitted to attend. This includes children with a fever over 100⁰. Children must be fever-free for 24 hours prior to attending.

As a token of appreciation for Ohio churches who financially support Network Ministries, Heartland Conference Retreat Center, and Church Multiplication, in accordance with levels recommended in OMN Bylaws, registration fees for this event are waived for lead pastors and all credentialed AG ministers (and their spouses) who are in good standing with their Network tithes and who regularly attend or are on staff at “Heart for Ohio” churches.

To receive this discount, all qualifying ministers should have received an e-mail with the event discount code. If you did not receive that e-mail or deleted it accidentally (hey, it happens – we know!), contact us at 614.396.0700, and ask for Stacie Buerger.

All registration fees are transferable within the event, but not refundable. For teen registrations (PK Retreat), be sure to note whether registering for sessions only or for housing and meals as well.

Who is Jesus?

More than two thousand years ago God sent Jesus Christ into this world. He became one of us, but he did nothing wrong. He showed us what God is like – merciful and kind. He healed the sick people, the blind were made to see, the deaf to hear, the lame to walk. Some people followed him, and to them he gave a new way of life – God’s way. But others hated Him because He was so good, and he exposed their evil ways.

He gave his own life as a sacrifice, a payment for our sins. He died on the cross to save us. Three days after he died, Jesus Christ came back from the dead. Now He lives in the power of an endless life to meet your need, to be your Saviour, to forgive your sins. Jesus Christ is the only one who can do this for you.

Why We Exist

The Ohio Ministry Network exists to encourage and support Ohio families, churches and ministry leaders. We strive to equip and resource churches and pastors to tell the world about Jesus.

However, if you've come to this site seeking answers about Jesus, seeking help in troubled times, or would like prayer, please contact us at the number below.

May God richly bless you today!
