The Ohio Men's Ministries
The Ohio Men's Ministries supports the local church by helping men reach their potential in Jesus Christ. The ENCOUNTER, EXPERIENCE and EXPRESS strategy are stepping stones for being all God has called us to be.
The ENCOUNTER strategy is more than events, but following through with them. GAMEDAY, a large men's conference held each year in March, creates an atmosphere for men to ENCOUNTER the presence of God. The goal of GAMEDAY is to take a man from whatever current level of spirituality to the next level, whether he has never heard the Good News, or just needs new tools to help him spiritually. Other events like: Iron Sharpen Iron, Men of Valor, Top Gun Competition and Wheels on Fire are ENCOUNTERING tools to reach men.
The EXPERIENCE strategy is the discipling arm of OMM. Men need other men to help grow spiritually. Their spiritual EXPERIENCE in Christ helps others grow in their faith. We encourage small groups. CHAMPIONS is a curriculum designed for growing in Christ. It is flexible enough to be completed by an individual (not recommended) or in a group setting. The curriculum speaks to men's related issues. Another curriculum created is for YOUNG CHAMPIONS ages 13-18. Men need a process to follow, not just an event. Other EXPERIENCE tools would be: Dad's Coaching Clinic, Power Tools for Men, Men's Fraternity (1-3) and OSOM (Ohio School of Ministry).
The EXPRESS strategy builds on the previous levels. This level has different tools to help men EXPRESS their faith in words and actions. OMM encourages men to serve the vision of their pastor to make a greater impact upon the community. In particular, SERVE OHIO is a list of men who volunteer to impact their community and state through servant-evangelism. Men are mobilized as a need is made evident and placed into action to EXPRESS their faith in words and deeds. Other EXPRESS tools would be: Mission trips and Builders International.
